Housing, Farsta

  • Two clients are building a housing block each on an existing plot in the Stockholm neighborhood of Farsta. We have used a contemporary approach to prefab construction and careful detailing to introduce an intermediate scale for buildings and landscaping in the area.

    • Status: Planning permission
    • Team: Benjamin Mandre, Mikael Holm, Rodrigo Yañez
    • Collaboration: Urbio Landscape architects.
    • Client:
      Fastighets AB Erik DahlDanielsson Fastigheter
  • The two buildings are placed along the street at a distance from the existing late 1950's buildings by Björn Hedvall. The front towards the street makes room for different planting types and seating areas. The basement floor contains a garage and is accentuated with a more rustic surface structure and is creating a platform for the two buildings.

  • The layouts allow for views and light from different directions. All apartments face outwards, with doors and balconies of varying sizes. The strict fenestration is varied by bay windows and French balconies. Most of the apartments facing the street have corner windows to extend the views. Facades facing the courtyard instead have recessed balconies with a textile quality.
